Legislative news:
Private investigators in Vermont recently lost access to DMV records. This was Governor Phil Scott’s response to some VT Digger and national articles that came out about big data brokers buying up DMV information. Private investigators rely on the DMV to do their jobs accurately and professionally. Vermont private investigators are licensed, regulated by the State, and have had zero complaints about mishandling private DMV data since we were allowed access in 1996.

There are proposed bills related to DMV access that now sit in 3 committees, and they may come to a vote by the end of January 2020.  If you are a PI or an attorney who is concerned about the loss of DMV access, please contact your legislator to let them know that you oppose this plan.
